Stomp The Violence

Attended a Stomp The Violence event today! Similar to In Her Shoes where guys volunteer to walk a quick mile around campus in heels except using the title In Her Shoes requires the school to pay a fee and someone finally realized that "In Her Shoes" doesn't include the majority of rape victims: males. Male rape victims are the majority of unreported rapes. Makes sense.

Anyways, got a few shots of my boyfriend and his friend looking fabulous in heels and the whole parade shebang...

Quigley's amazing wedges... unanimously agreed to be the only heels volunteered for the event that any girl would actually wear.

Kevin, hiking up the corduroys so all can bask in the full effect of his heels...

Kevin.

Alex.

Quigley.

The Girls.

Guys lining up to sign the volunteer sheet and receive their heels.

Dylan handing out Stomp The Violence tank tops.

Morag with her Stomp The Violence tank.

Jacquie and Mary, observing the chaos from afar...

Xi Chi fraternity brothers showing support for the Stomp The Violence event.

Quigley's wedges.

Alex's heels (I say barely but he vehemently disagrees).

Some cute open toes with gold lining.

20s and 40s heels.

More heels.

Aaron and Xi Chi brother trying to show off their heels.

Meredith starting the event. The professor behind her shared a very tearful and moving story about witnessing domestic violence in his youth by his father against his mother. There was a tear or two in everyone's eyes by the end.

Morag and Mary, Delta Phi Alpha girls.

Gathering before the walk.

Hugs between Schaeffer and Laura.

Beginning the mile.

Delta Phi Alpha girls waiting towards the end of the mile with "Free Hugs" signs.

Free hug example.

Victoriously striding! Alex said he only rolled his ankle once. I feel bad for him. Not.

Caitlin DJing a bit for the after-walk barbecue.

Getting the crowd moving.

Dylan modeling the Stomp The Violence tank.

Micah and Jane getting ready to perform.

A very beautiful portrait of Adriana, if I do say so myself.

So happy after waiting an hour in line for a veggie burger!

A good day.

It's 78 Degrees Today!

It was astonishingly warm and beautiful the last two days... and very, very windy! Everyone flocked to the nearest green expanse to enjoy the sunshine and warm weather. It was the perfect mix of sunny and warm: the sun didn't make you hotter, just the world more bright and beautiful, and the warmth was neither humid nor sweat inducing. Shorts were donned, pants were cuffed, jackets were shed and homework was done outside. Pretty much everyone was in a good mood! Amazing what some vitamin D can do for the disposition.

Alex and Quigley pose, attempting to be cool by looking as uncool as possible. They think they're being photographed for Woo Street Style. Nope.

Kevin pretzels in a collapsible camping chair with his class reading. He looks like a cat, caught mid awkwardly positioned nap/solar-battery-reboot. Over exposure is a travesty. Still learning how to edit the color and lighting in photos...

Alex's Surprise Birthday Dinner: Applebees!

Alex cracks jokes with his friends as we lead him to his surprise birthday lunch at Applebees. "Give me anything corporate America, I'll be happy." He quips. The simple life.

He tried to pull the blind fold off only to find it lashed a bit tight to his head.

Help comes in the form of Ginna...

Dan expresses the level of excitement we all feel as we enter everyone's favorite friendly, neighborhood restaurant.

Puzzlement and perplexity in reaction to Applebee's choice of channel on their TVs.

The girls smile as I realize belatedly that my camera's autofocus points have not covered all their faces... apologies Ginna...
